(as listed in Article III, Section 6 of SER-AMTAs Constitution- NOT a running position) The duties of President shall be: a) To preside over and establish agendas for all meetings of SER-AMTAS and the SBOD. b) To be a member ex-officio of all committees. c) To call special meetings of the SBOD. d) To appoint all committees, with the approval of the SBOD. e) To attend the Regional and National Conferences. f) To maintain contact with the Student Affairs Advisor. g) To communicate with the music therapy students in AMTA-approved schools in the Southeastern Region. h) To contact Student Affairs Advisor nominees for acceptance or declination of nomination prior to Regional Conference. i) To serve as a voting member of the Student Affairs Advisory Board, herein known as SAAB, of AMTA and fill all requirements of that position. j) To submit a report to the SER-AMTAS secretary at each Regional Conference. k) To contribute a submission for publication in each of the SER-AMTAS newsletters, the AMTAS newsletters, and the SER, Inc.’s Quodlibet. l) To represent SER-AMTAS as a voting member at any Board of Directors Meetings of SER, Inc.
President-Elect
(As stated in Article III, Section 7 of SER-AMTAs Constitution) The duties of the President-Elect shall be: a) To undertake the duties of the President in his/her/their absence. b) To serve as SER-AMTAS President in the year following his/her/their term as President-Elect. c) To coordinate all committees and assist committee chairperson. d) To coordinate the publication and distribution of the SER-AMTAS newsletter(s). e) To maintain and update the SER-AMTAS website. f) To form a committee to secure nomination in the absence of nominees for an SER-AMTAS Executive Officer. g) To carry out tasks assigned by the President. h) To serve as an informant for student needs in conference planning. i) To attend the Regional and National Conferences. j) To submit a report to the SER-AMTAS secretary at each Regional Conference. k) To serve as a non-voting member of the SER Board of Directors.
Parliamentarian
(As stated in Article III, Section 8 of SER-AMTAs Constitution) The duties of the Parliamentarian shall be: a) To assure that all SER-AMTAS meetings are conducted according to Robert's Rules of Order, Revised. b) To review the bylaws before the Regional Conferences and propose any changes by the first student meeting at the Regional Conference. c) To propose and facilitate revisions of the constitution and bylaws. d) To submit a report to the SER-AMTAS secretary at each Regional Conference. e) To contribute a submission for publication in each SER-AMTAS newsletter. f)To run all social media for SER-AMTAS or appoint another officer to do so.
Secretary
(As stated in Article III, Section 9 of SER-AMTAs Constitution) a) To keep minutes of all meetings. b) To handle assigned correspondence, including communication with professional committees. c) To preserve all documents and letters. d) To send the minutes after all business meetings to members of the SBOD and the Student Affairs Advisor. e) To maintain current contact information (names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers) for the Executive Officers and the Student Affairs Advisor, as well as student officers, representatives, and advisors at each school.f) To send current contact information to members of the SBOD, including newly elected officers at the conclusion of the Regional Conference. g) To submit a bi-annual report to the SER, Inc. Board of Directors summarizing the business of SER-AMTAS. h) To determine a quorum for each business meeting. i) To acquire a list of current SER-AMTAS members from AMTA before the National and Regional Conferences. j) To contribute a submission for publication in each of the SER-AMTAS newsletters. k) To write a Secretary’s Report to be given and filed at each Regional Conference.
Treasurer
(As stated in Article III, Section 10 of SER-AMTAs Constitution) a) To receive and have charge of all funds of the association.b) To report, upon request, to any member of SER, Inc., the financial standing of the association. c) To deliver the newly elected Treasurer all monies, vouchers, books, signature cards, and papers of the association, with a supplemental report covering all transactions yet to be completed, by July 1. d) To allow all books to be opened to audit at the discretion of the SBOD. e) To prepare and submit for approval by the Board of Directors a written estimate of monies required for an upcoming fiscal year, to be presented at the Student Business Meeting during the Regional Conference. f) To oversee all fundraising projects. g) To submit a report to the SER-AMTAS secretary at each Regional Conference. h) To contribute a submission for publication in each of the SER-AMTAS newsletter. i) To submit a Treasurer’s Report on the financial standing of SER-AMTAS at four (4) times throughout each year.
